The Punch
About 1.75 litres of that 4.25 is spirit. The fruit juice and WKD make it go down easy, the Deadman's Fingers adds a coconut sweetness at the back, and the Boost keeps everyone going longer than they should. Serve over a lot of ice. Scale down if you don't need to feed a small party.
Ingredients
1 litre each
- Lemonade
- Orange juice
- Apple juice
500 ml each
- Jack Daniel's
- Smirnoff vodka
- WKD Blue
- Boost energy drink
250 ml
- Deadman's Fingers coconut rum
Method
-
Fill a large punchbowl, bucket, or clean bin with plenty of ice first - the ice is load-bearing here, not decoration. You need to chill this volume of liquid fast and keep it cold throughout the night.
-
Add the spirits first: Jack Daniel's, Smirnoff, Deadman's Fingers. Pour them over the ice.
-
Add the WKD Blue and Boost.
-
Pour in the orange juice, apple juice, and lemonade last. The lemonade goes in last so you don't lose the fizz.
-
Stir gently - you don't want to flatten the lemonade or the WKD. Taste it. If it needs more juice to soften it, add more lemonade or OJ. Don't add more spirit.
Total volume: ~4.25 litres
Total spirit: ~1.75 litres (Jack + Smirnoff + Deadman's)
Spirit %: roughly 41% of the mix before ice dilution
It tastes a lot lighter than it is. The fruit juice and WKD Blue cover the alcohol well. Warn people before they have a second cup.
Scaling down: halve everything for a smaller gathering (~8–10 people). The ratios stay the same.
